About Thru the Bible Questions & Answers
This 30-minute weekend program shares Dr. McGee's answers to Bible questions sent in over the years by listeners to his daily Thru the Bible program. Topics range in subject matter from deep theological issues to questions about moral and social issues Christians face in their daily walk with the Lord.

About Dr. J. Vernon McGee John Vernon McGee was born in Hillsboro, Texas, in 1904. Dr. McGee remarked, "When I was born and the doctor gave me the customary whack, my mother said that I let out a yell that could be heard on all four borders of Texas!" His Creator well knew that he would need a powerful voice to deliver a powerful message.

After completing his education (including a Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary), he and his wife came west, settling in Pasadena, California. Dr. McGee's greatest pastorate was at the historic Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles, where he served from 1949 to 1970.

He began teaching Thru the Bible in 1967. After retiring from the pastorate, he set up radio headquarters in Pasadena, and the radio ministry expanded rapidly. Listeners never seem to tire of Dr. J. Vernon McGee's unique brand of rubber-meets-the-road teaching, or his passion for teaching the whole Word of God.

On the morning of December 1, 1988, Dr. McGee fell asleep in his chair and quietly passed into the presence of his Savior. » Thru the Bible Radio with Dr. J. Vernon McGee

'INTOLERABLE THAT JEWS CANNOT PRAY ON TEMPLE MOUNT'

You've read the news. Now understand it.

Muslim Intolerance: Christian Prayers And Bibles Also Banned

Israel Today Staff — Israeli lawmaker Miri Regev intends to use her new position as head of the Knesset Interior Committee to advance the right of Jews to pray atop Jerusalem's Temple Mount.

Despite being the most holy site on earth for Jews and many Christians, both religious groups are barred from praying at or bringing Bibles to the Temple Mount for fear of a Muslim backlash.

Regev said it is intolerable that Jews do not have freedom of religion at Judaism's holiest site, and she will soon visit the Temple Mount with other committee members with the expressed aim of changing that reality.

Regev's bold stand has earned her the scorn of ultra-secular Israelis who believe appeasing the Muslims is more important than fulfilling Israel's biblical mandate. » Full Article

8TH GRADER ARRESTED, SUSPENDED FOR NRA ‘PROTECT YOUR RIGHT’ T-SHIRT WITH IMAGE OF GUN

Arrested And Suspended!

Liz Klimas, TheBlaze — An eighth grade student from West Virginia has been arrested, suspended and faces charges for wearing an NRA T-shirt with the image of a firearm and the words “Protect Your Right” printed on it to school.

Logan Middle School’s policy regarding dress states:
A student will not dress or groom in a manner that disrupts the educational process or is detrimental to the health, safety or welfare of others. A student will not dress in a manner that is distractive or indecent, to the extent that it interferes with the teaching and learning process, including wearing any apparel that displays or promotes any drug-, alcohol- or tobacco-related product that is prohibited in school buildings, on school grounds, in school-leased or owned vehicles, and at all school-affiliated functions.
The student’s father, Allen Lardieri, told WOWK that the shirt didn’t violate this policy, nor did his son become aggressive when confronted about it.

“I will go to the ends of the earth, I will call people, I will write letters, I will do everything in the legal realm to make sure this does not happen again,” Lardieri said. » Full Article

REMEMBERING NON-REVISED HISTORY: APRIL 20, 2013

Harry S. Truman
Thirty-Third President of the United States (1945–1953)

Biography
Harry S. Truman (May 8, 1884 – December 26, 1972) was the 33rd President of the United States (1945–1953). The final running mate of President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1944, Truman succeeded to the presidency on April 12, 1945, when Roosevelt died after months of declining health. Under Truman, the U.S. successfully concluded World War II; in the aftermath of the conflict, tensions with the Soviet Union increased, marking the start of the Cold War.

Truman was born in Missouri, and spent most of his youth on his family's farm. During World War I, Truman served in combat in France as an artillery officer in his National Guard unit. After the war, he briefly owned a haberdashery and joined the Democratic Party political machine of Tom Pendergast in Kansas City, Missouri. He was first elected to public office as a county official, and in 1934 became U.S. senator. He gained national prominence as head of the wartime Truman Committee, which exposed waste, fraud, and corruption in wartime contracts. » Full Bio
