GOSNELL’S HOUSE OF HORRORS THE LOGICAL RESULT OF LEGALIZED ABORTION

Kristan Hawkins, Life News — (Philadelphia) Forty-seven fetuses stored in cat food. Venereal diseases spread with dirty instruments among patients. Fifteen-year-olds administering anesthesia. Live babies struggling in toilets, jumping as their spinal cords are snipped with scissors. Women dying with their organs perforated.

The filth, the disease, the hopelessness.

Tell me again why we’re surprised.

As I write this, the president of the United States is planning to speak at a Planned Parenthood event this Friday, and the world’s largest abortion business is distancing itself from the Gosnell horror show.

All over the country, abortion advocates, now forced by increasing media coverage to say something about Gosnell, condemn his shoddy practices. Many are quick to point out that all abortions were that dangerous before it was legal. Some even say that maybe if so-called “late-term” abortions (in this context, after 24.5 weeks) were legal, maybe they would be done by more reputable providers and would therefore be safer.

I’ll leave all that up for debate, although the answers, to me, are obvious. It’s very difficult for me to apply the word “reputable” to any abortionist, let alone one who would operate well into the second and third trimesters.

In any case, the pro-choice crowd is working hard to draw a stark line between themselves and Gosnell. Which is an uphill battle, because it’s the mainstream pro-choice ideology and worldview that led directly, without passing “Go,” to Kermit Gosnell.

Abortion advocates are essentially no different from Nazis or Soviet Communists. All of them have picked a class of humans to sacrifice. Let’s take the Nazis, for example: over a period of time and by a series of complex political and social occurrences and maneuvers, the Jew became Germany’s scapegoat. Getting rid of Jews (and priests, and gypsies, and homosexuals, and the mentally and physically disabled, etc.) was a necessary sacrifice to make Germany better, more prosperous, and safer. The exterminations took place somewhere else, where the average Berlin shop girl couldn’t see and wonder at the clusters of buildings surrounded by barbed wire, the oily smoke rising from the chimneys.

“How can you possibly write that?” some of you are screaming at your monitors. “How dare you diminish the suffering of the Holocaust?”

I’m not diminishing anything. You are. Because history repeats itself, and denial is very human.

Today, in America, unborn humans are the Jews. They’re not “real” humans, just like Jews weren’t “real” humans. I mean, they’re alive, but not technically. They don’t feel and see and think, not the way we do. They’re different. They even look different.

Getting rid of them is often a necessary sacrifice for women who deserve more than being a baby-making machine, deserve hope and a career and a future. But it’s also a necessary sacrifice for our society, which simply cannot handle all those unwanted or disabled children born to women who can’t or won’t take care of them.

Aborting the unwanted and the unfit makes America better, more prosperous, and safer.

The exterminations take place somewhere else, in clinics with innocuous names like “Women’s Health Center.” The procedures are unseen and not clearly understood, even by the patients. The nature of the unborn isn’t even clearly understood. Fetal development? Who needs to know the details? It’s part of the esoterica, like a Menorrah or a Mezuzah. It doesn’t matter.

Many Germans were shocked when they were shown the massive pits full of emaciated corpses, the gold long since pulled from their mouths and melted down for the war effort. Women cried when they saw the gas chambers, the ovens, the skeletons of babies and children.

Today, Americans gape at their computer screens as they read about the snipped spinal cords, the babies struggling to escape from toilets, the fetuses stored in cat food, the butchered women, the racism, the filthiness, and the absurd and somehow disturbing image of a dirty cat strolling through the carnage, watching with its lazy cat eyes as women writhed in blood-stained recliners.

The gate over the entrance to Auschwitz read, “Arbeit macht frei.” Work leads to freedom. We still shake our heads at the grim irony of it, and with a sort of smug complacency. That could never happen here.

Gosnell’s so-called “house of horrors” is the logical end result of declaring a class of humans inhuman. It is what happens when naive women are told, without a trace of irony, that death leads to freedom: that killing their unborn children will rescue them, help them, free them.

Tell me again why we’re surprised.

Billy Hallowell, TheBlaze — Over the weekend, Live Action, a non-profit organization devoted to pro-life causes, released an undercover video showing an abortion counselor telling a woman how a baby, if born live, would allegedly be terminated. On Monday, a second video was released by the activist group — this time from a clinic in Washington, D.C. — showing an abortion doctor seeming saying he would not provide intensive life-saving assistance to a baby born alive before coming to term.

Part of Live Action’s Inhumane series, an undercover investigator who is 24 weeks pregnant went into the clinic and secretly filmed a conversation with Dr. Cesare Santangelo. While the medical professional noted that his intention is to remove the pregnancy “intact,” he noted that this doesn’t always happen. Additionally, he described the process and also made some curious comments about potentially declining to use life-saving measures, should the baby be born alive.

“I cut the umbilical cord first, wait for that to expire, and then we do it that way,” said Santangelo. “So hopefully…the fetus will expire first and then we do the pregnancy termination that way.”

As for abortion survival, the doctor’s responses are likely to raise eyebrows among pro-life advocates. When asked by the Live Action investigator what would happen if the baby lives through the birth, he noted that odds are that the child would die if born at the 24-week period.

“Technically — you know, legally we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive,” continued Santangelo. “But, you know, it probably wouldn’t. It’s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point…”

His subsequent comments about the “vigorous” nature of saving the child, though, will likely cause the most angst. Rather than employing all life-saving measures, according to video of the exchange, the doctor said that his clinic would do less than what is needed to give the child a chance at survival. Here’s how Santangelo described how this sort of situation would be handled:

“Let’s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination part of the procedure here, you know? Then we would do things — we would — we would not help it. We wouldn’t intubate. … It would be, you know, uh, a person, a terminal person in the hospital, let’s say, that had cancer, you know? You wouldn’t do any extra procedures to help that person survive. Like ‘do not resuscitate’ orders. We would do the same things here.”

In the past, TheBlaze has explored the journalistic standards and ethics surrounding undercover videos. The central question is: Is it ever permissible to lie to get the truth? While some would quickly answer affirmatively, it’s a challenging dynamic — and one that deserves scrutiny.

Experts have a variety of opinions, but the general consensus is that, unless deceit is the only option to retrieving information of monumental importance to the public, lying to obtain it is not ethical journalistic practice. There are, of course, differing ideas on how this dynamic unfolds. In 2011, Fred Barnes of The Weekly Standard told TheBlaze that these rules do not apply to those outside of media.

DOCTORS WALK OUT OF NATIONAL OBAMACARE IMPLEMENTATION MEETING

Nearly All Doctors Walked Out In Protest And Disgust

Lance Devon, Natural News — According to live tweets and images sent from ophthalmologist Dr. Kris Held, nearly all doctors had walked out in protest and disgust of Obamacare implementation talks at a prominent national health care meeting. Typically, The American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Government Relations session is a well attended, formal business conference where brilliant minds in medicine convene. This year was a different story. With talks of Obamacare implementation and compliance underway, doctors left and right had left the auditorium.

Dr. Kris Held tweeted during the meeting, "Doctors are literally walking out of this talk on implementing, complying with Obamacare. We are men and women of the mind not mindless drones."

"In the past our government relations session was well attended. Government minion is droning on, as virtually all doctors have walked out."

"I'm staying to the bitter end to make comment and ask how government plans to do all this with no doctors?"

The Obamacare Penalty

Starting in 2014, consumers will be forced to purchase health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Naysayer's noncompliance will be punished with an IRS tax penalty. The tax penalty in 2014 begins at the rate of $95 per individual or one percent of household income, whichever is greater.

When 2016 rolls around, the penalty grows to $695 per person or 2.5 percent of annual household income, whichever is greater.

Even worse, a new HealthPocket consumer survey is showing that most uninsured people will remain uninsured. Nearly two-thirds of consumers said that the $95 penalty wouldn't motivate them to obtain health insurance. The reality is that the penalty isn't going to motivate very many people to buy insurance in October of 2013. That being said, the Obamacare mandate is going to serve as just another tax increase, a large one at that, which will squeeze more life from the economy, driving away innovation.

Some people are completely uninformed or apathetic toward the new penalty. In the HealthPocket survey, nearly 30 percent said they were "not certain" whether the penalty will motivate them to buy health insurance. According to Kev Coleman, head of Research & Data at HealthPocket, "That uncertainty may stem from a lack of awareness that a tax penalty under Obamacare exists, or a lack of understanding of how that penalty amount will compare to the cost of a new Obamacare health plan."

What Doctors Are Saying About Obamacare

After practicing medicine for twenty-five years Dr. Tamzin Rosenwasser left her dermatology practice in 2011. "I have interrupted practicing medicine because of Obamacare," said Dr. Rosenwasser. "I've read the bill. I was conversant with what had already happened with Medicaid, and I didn't want to go down that road with Obamacare."

Dr. Richard Armstrong, a Michigan-based surgeon and chief operating officer of Docs 4 Patient Care says, "Every single day, people are talking about retiring early, getting out of clinical medicine, or going into hospital administration, where you don't have to think about patient care anymore."

Still yet, some believe government managed health care will work, even though Medicaid is a good example of how government managed care bloats cost, herds ideas, stifles innovation, and is unsustainable for future generations.

"Some physicians are all for Obamacare," said Dr. Rosenwasser, who had practices in Florida and Indiana. "They've been brought up in the government system. This is what they know."

Most doctors are just waiting to see what happens. "About 90 percent of doctors are completely uninformed about what the government's doing," Dr. Armstrong said. "A lot of them are in this free-floating anxiety mode."

The Anxiety Mounts

• Will doctors comply or will they walk out on this monstrous government managed system?

• Will consumers comply or will they find alternative answers?

• Will states comply or will they develop a new competitive model?

• Will naturopathic doctors be shut out of the new government controlled market place or will they rise to the occasion?

• What might the medical system look like in the United States in five years?

GOP REP. GOHMERT: OBAMA ADMIN FULL OF ‘MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD MEMBERS’ WHO REJECT WAR WITH ‘RADICAL ISLAM’

Matt Wilstein, Mediaite — Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) sat down for an interview with WND radio this week and let loose some of his fiercest criticism of the Obama administration to date in the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings. Not only did the conservative congressman attack the FBI and Justice Department for “bungling” the investigation into the Tsarnaev brothers before and after the bombings, but he also made the wild accusation that members of the Muslim Brotherhood have infiltrated President Obama‘s administration and are influencing the U.S. to ignore “radical Islam’s” war against us.

Speaking about the decision to read the Boston suspect his Miranda rights, Gohmert lashed out at Attorney General Eric Holder, saying, “I guess with our attorney general having spent more time before being AG trying to help terrorists than trying to corral them, the first impulse was let’s get him to stop talking.”

“If it’s not bad enough that they bungled getting this guy picked up and his brother picked up and questioned before they blew up people in Boston,” he continued, “then now to get him to shut up when he has invaluable information potentially is just really egregious.”

Gohmert also linked the administration’s reaction to the Boston to its response to last year’s attacks in Benghazi, a parallel that is becoming increasingly prevalent on conservative media. “I mean, one after another we’ve had incidents where this administration has shown incompetence,” he said. “So it seems to be a real pattern.”

But the most shocking moment of the interview came when Gohmert suggested that the Obama administration is somehow being guided by the Muslim Brotherhood. “It’s very clear to everyone but this administration that radical Islam is at war against us,” he said. “This administration has so many Muslim Brotherhood members that have influence that they just are making wrong decisions for America.”

Finally, Gohmert accused Obama of allowing the Boston bombings to happen by failing to “secure to border” to immigrants. “The president has refused to do his job in securing the border. It’s his obligation. He has an oath to fulfill,” he said. “But he is holding off adequately securing the border until he can get what he wants. The right thing to do would be to say, ‘Mr. President, enough. There are enough dead Americans from people who have been let in wrongly.’”

Just two days after the attacks in Boston, Gohmert made headlines for stoking fear over immigration on C-SPAN by saying that Al Qaeda members positioned on the Mexican are being “trained to come in and act like Hispanic, when they are radical Islamists.”

U.S. DELIVERS STRONG WARNING TO ISRAEL

Amid Fears Iran About To Cross So-Called Red Line

Aaron Klein, WND, Jerusalem — (TEL AVIV) According to informed Middle Eastern security officials, U.S. Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel delivered a strongly worded message to Israel – do not attack Iran.

The officials told WND that Hagel informed the Israeli government the Obama administration will not accept any unilateral Israeli attack against Iran and that Israel must not strike Tehran without coordination with the U.S.

Hagel further told Israel that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cannot decide alone whether Iran has crossed the nuclear threshold, or the so-called Red Line previously outlined by the Israeli leader.

In a speech at the United Nations in September, Netanyahu drew a red line on a drawing of a bomb, depicting the point where he said Iran will have enough medium-enriched uranium to move rapidly toward building a nuclear bomb.

Netanyahu said at the U.N. that Iran could reach that point this spring or summer. By contrast, Obama has resisted setting any such deadlines.

Last week, Israel’s former military intelligence chief, Amos Yadlin, said, “If Iran continues to enrich uranium at its current rate, toward the end of the year it will cross the red line in a clear manner.”

The information comes after a former International Atomic Energy Agency senior nuclear inspector warned that Iran has discovered a way to circumvent Israel’s red line and that the red line may have already been passed.

Last fall, an IAEA report on Iran’s nuclear program showed a dip in the amount of 20 percent enriched uranium. Commenting on the report, the former deputy director-general for safeguards at the IAEA and senior nuclear inspector Olli Heinonen explained in a recent opinion article how this decrease is likely a gimmick.

He wrote that Iran has the capability to reconvert the uranium material back to the gas needed for its nuclear program. The converted 20 percent enriched uranium, now in a less worrisome oxide form, can “be converted back into centrifuge feedstock within a week.”

Heinonen warned that Iran may be able to convert the uranium without risk of detection.

If, through this process, Iran can disguise the quantity of enriched uranium it actually possesses, then Israel’s so-called red line may be artificial.

Heinonen further argued Iran has already passed Netanyahu’s red line of 250 kilograms of 20 percent enriched uranium, estimating Tehran possess as much as 280 kilograms, excluding any material that has already gone through the conversion process. » Full Article

Nathanael Greene Takes Command of Long Island

On this day in 1776, shortly after the American victory at Boston, Massachusetts, General George Washington orders Brigadier General Nathanael Greene to take command of Long Island and set up defensive positions against a possible British attack on New York City.

Greene's troops were arranged to defend themselves against a frontal attack in Brooklyn Heights across from Manhattan. On August 26, 1776, the British took the vast majority of Long Island with ease, as the island's population was heavily Loyalist. On August 27, the troops at Brooklyn Heights disintegrated under an unexpected attack from their left flank. In a British effort to earn goodwill for a negotiated peace, they allowed American survivors to flee to Manhattan.
