Prayer is the mainspring of the American spirit, a fundamental tenet of our people since before the Republic was founded. A year before the Declaration of Independence, in 1775, the Continental Congress proclaimed the first National Day of Prayer as the initial positive action they asked of every colonist.Two hundred years ago in 1783, the Treaty of Paris officially ended the long, weary Revolutionary War during which a National Day of Prayer had been proclaimed every spring for eight years. When peace came the National Day of Prayer was forgotten. For almost half a century, as the Nation grew in power and wealth, we put aside this deepest expression of American belief-our national dependence on the Providence of God.
It took the tragedy of the Civil War to restore a National Day of Prayer. As Abraham Lincoln said, "Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us."
Revived as an annual observance by Congress in 1952, the National Day of Prayer has become a great unifying force for our citizens who come from all the great religions of the world. Prayer unites people. This common expression of reverence heals and brings us together as a Nation and we pray it may one day bring renewed respect for God to all the peoples of the world.
From General Washington's struggle at Valley Forge to the present, this Nation has fervently sought and received divine guidance as it pursued the course of history. This occasion provides our Nation with an opportunity to further recognize the source of our blessings, and to seek His help for the challenges we face today and in the future.
Now, Therefore, I, Ronald Reagan, President of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim Thursday, May 5, 1983, National Day of Prayer. I call upon every citizen of this great Nation to gather together on that day in homes and places of worship to pray, each after his or her own manner, for unity of the hearts of all mankind.

Biography
RONALD WILSON REAGAN (February 6, 1911 – June 5, 2004) was the 40th President of the United States (1981–1989). Prior to that, he was the 33rd Governor of California (1967–1975), and a radio, film and television actor. As president, Reagan implemented sweeping new political and economic initiatives. His supply-side economic policies, dubbed “Reaganomics”, advocated reducing tax rates to spur economic growth, controlling the money supply to reduce inflation, deregulation of the economy, and reducing government spending. In his first term he survived an assassination attempt, took a hard line against labor unions, and ordered an invasion of Grenada. He was re-elected in a landslide in 1984, proclaiming that it was “Morning in America.”

Greenfield, a grandson of Holocaust survivors, shamed the protestors, stating that he was grateful that they’d revealed their true nature as being anti-semitic and where only angry that Hitler wasn’t able to completely kill all Jews. Below is the body of Council Member Greenfield’s powerful remarks (see video above):
I’m upset, I’m angry, but I’ll tell you honestly, I’m actually somewhat pleased to what we saw here today. If you’re wondering why I’m saying that, it’s because for the last few weeks we’ve heard from people who said, ‘Oh, we don’t dislike Jews. We only dislike the State of Israel. We have no problem with you — we simply don’t want you to go to Israel.’
But we know that’s not really at the core of what they were saying. And today. they proved it. While we were discussing a resolution regarding the murder of 1.1 million human beings — I will point out that 90% of whom were Jewish, but the other 10% were political dissidents — they were Jehovah’s Witnesses — they were gays — those were the people who were being killed together in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
While we were discussing that, they had the nerve, the chutzpah, the temerity, to unfurl a Palestinian flag, and to yell at us while we were discussing that. And so the reason I’m pleased is because we can stop pretending that this is about Israel. It is that every Middle Eastern country that is in existence is not democratic, and persecutes people of other faiths, and persecutes gays, and persecutes people who disagree with them, and persecutes people on Twitter, and persecutes women who drive, except for one country, which is the State of Israel!
And so what you saw here today was naked, blind, anti-Semitism! That’s what you saw, and that’s what you watch, and that’s what you witnessed. People who are upset for one reason — do you want to know why they’re angry? Do you wanna know why they’re unfurling that flag today? Because Hitler did not finish the job! He only wiped out half of my family, and only by the grace of God is the other half, me, the grandchild, still alive today.
That’s why those people are upset! Shame on them! Shame on them for hating Jews. Shame on them for hating people. Shame on them for disrespecting the most diverse democratically elected body in the United States of America. And that’s why we go to Israel. We go to Israel to make a message that is clear — that we will not be cowered by this fear and by this hatred that we have, where these are people who would celebrate the death of Jews, rather than mourn the death of innocence.
I am embarrassed at what happened here today, but I am pleased that we finally see what this is all about — good old-fashioned anti-Semitism.

Faced with “a statute that yielded politically unpopular results,” the president at one point suspended the individual mandate for millions, “waived ‘minimum essential coverage’ requirements in 2014″ and expanded the scope of hardship exemptions in a manner “entirely inconsistent with Congress’ design.”That’s according to a new brief submitted by the Cato Institute in the King v. Burwell case pending before the U.S. Supreme Court.
The case argues the plain language of the Obamacare law says only those who sign up through state exchanges will be eligible for subsidies. But the Obama administration is giving them to people who sign up through federal exchanges as well.

The US Court system delivers support for the government’s crimes. That’s it.Brown’s statement shows how the system works. The government brings false charges against you or they bring charges that are not illegal under law as understood. However, prosecutors invent new interpretations of laws and judges and juries accept legislation-by-prosecutor-to-fit-the-made-up-case. Almost never is a jury involved, not that jurors show any inclination to go against the government’s case. However, prosecutors only face that unlikely risk in 3 or 4 percent of the cases. All other cases are settled on the basis of self-incrimination. The prosecutor tells the defendant and his attorney, “you can admit to this and that and have a sentence of 5 or 10 years. Otherwise, we are indicting you with 105 offenses with imprisonment of at least one lifetime....

However, while the Big Apple was steeped in unbearable heartache, with a heavy heart about being otherwise committed and under much emotional duress, a greatly shaken Obama and the first lady did manage to soothe their grief with a $1,000-a-couple dinner at the swanky Hawaiian Vintage Cave.
Then there was the terrorist attack in France that killed 17 people. Following the bloodshed, a million-person march descended on Paris. French President Francois Hollande and 44 foreign dignitaries, including leaders from Germany, Italy, Britain, Turkey, Israel, and the Palestinian territories, attended the protest.
One would think that not even another fundraiser in Gwyneth Paltrow’s backyard could stop Barack ‘Citizen of the World’ Obama from participating in the show of unity. But again, unfortunately, the president was mysteriously engaged elsewhere, possibly doing whatever he was doing on the night of the Benghazi attack.
