Pastor Mike Hoggard discusses the Translation, most often referred to as the Rapture, and Return of Jesus Christ. Like many other Bible doctrines, Pastor Mike followed the Holy Ghost's guidance in considering nothing but the Scriptures to find out the truth. Even though he had been taught the rapture since his youth, he put aside his preconceived ideas, and hopes you will too as we delve into this two, or maybe even three part series. There is no argument that the word "rapture" is not in the Bible. The word rapture is transliterated from the Latin Bible, which is a translation of the Greek word that means "to be caught up."
Jesus said that He would return for His bride and the living and the dead would be caught up to meet Him in the air. The two angels who stood by at the Ascension provide the second witness to that statement. As to the when of the rapture, the only thing known presently is that it's at the Last Trump. God will give His people greater understanding the closer we get to the event; prophecy is best understood after it happens. Notwithstanding, Christians are not appointed to wrath, the purpose of the rapture is not to save believers out of the earth before the really bad stuff from the Book of Revelation starts to happen.
Pastor Mike beautifully explains how the promises of God to Israel will be fulfilled through the church. Christians have been going through horrible things for two thousand years, and we are no more special than those who have been burned at the stake, hacked to death or imprisoned for their faith. The translation and the return of Jesus Christ is a magnificent love story that was even foretold in the pages of the Old Testament through people like David, Joseph and Ruth. This teaching will fill your heart with wonder to realize the depth of God's love for His people, His bride and especially for Israel.
