About Dr. J. Vernon McGee John Vernon McGee was born in Hillsboro, Texas, in 1904. Dr. McGee remarked, "When I was born and the doctor gave me the customary whack, my mother said that I let out a yell that could be heard on all four borders of Texas!" His Creator well knew that he would need a powerful voice to deliver a powerful message.

After completing his education (including a Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary), he and his wife came west, settling in Pasadena, California. Dr. McGee's greatest pastorate was at the historic Church of the Open Door in downtown Los Angeles, where he served from 1949 to 1970.

He began teaching Thru the Bible in 1967. After retiring from the pastorate, he set up radio headquarters in Pasadena, and the radio ministry expanded rapidly. Listeners never seem to tire of Dr. J. Usama Dakdok is the founder of The Straightway of Grace Ministry. He travels throughout the United States equipping Christians to be effective witnesses of Jesus Christ to their Muslim neighbors as well as ministering to Muslims directly. Usama was born in Egypt, the son of a Baptist pastor. He became a Christian at the age of eleven yet learned about Islam in school. He eventually studied Islamic law in college.

Usama noted that people are victims of the teachings of Allah in the Quran and the teachings of Muhammad in the Hadith. This is playing out in various headlines such as the following:

• Canada asks how middle class boys became jihadists.
• A Muslim mob, angered by Christian youth, attack
residents of a city in Pakistan.
• Egyptian Christian funeral ends in violent clashes while
police stand by.
• A teddy bear named Muhammad causes controversy.

We should not be surprised by this as Usama told listeners that Allah commands Muslims to lie, attack and to kill Christians, Jews and non-Muslims.

So where is this “Allah” talked about? Allah is talked about in the Muslim holy book known as the Quran. 87% of Muslims worldwide don’t speak the Arabic language so many of them, despite their anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiments, haven’t even read the Quran. Walid Shoebat, Shoebat Foundation — Hitler’s propaganda expert Joseph Goebbels argued that the if a lie is repeated often enough, it will be accepted as truth. These days, all anyone has to do to confirm that is watch MSNBC.

Goebbels also said the following:

“…the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

At Albany high school in New York, students in various English classes were given assignments whereby they would make Hitler’s case for Nazis and against Jews. Depending on how seriously the students took the project, they may have fallen victim to the Goebbels technique.

Via Albany Times Union:

Think like a Nazi, the assignment required students. Argue why Jews are evil.

Students in some Albany High School English classes were asked this week as part of a persuasive writing assignment to make an abhorrent argument: “You must argue that Jews are evil, and use solid rationale from government propaganda to convince me of your loyalty to the Third Reich!”

Students were asked to watch and read Nazi propaganda, then pretend their teacher was a Nazi government official who needed to be convinced of their loyalty. In five paragraphs, they were required to prove that Jews were the source of Germany’s problems.

The exercise was intended to challenge students to formulate a persuasive argument and was given to three classes, Albany Superintendent Marguerite Vanden Wyngaard said. She said the assignment should have been worded differently.

Should have been worded differently?!

Based on the fact that the school has been busted, Goebbels would likely agree with that sentiment because, well, “…the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie” and the truth is that this was a despicable assignment and those responsible should be fired. » Full Article

Biography of Walid Shoebat

Six months later, after intense study, Walid realized that everything he had been taught about Jews was a lie. Convinced he was on the side of evil, he became an advocate for his former enemy. Video Description: 4/12/13 - MSNBC's Melissa Harris-Perry sat down with her colleague Chris Hayes tonight on All In to respond to the controversy over her promo for the network, in which she says that children should be the responsibility of communities. Harris-Perry found it particularly interesting that of all the hours and hours of content aired on MSNBC, this in particular would "distress people so much." Hayes opened the segment saying that the only reason this has been getting a lot of play on Fox News is due to a dearth of big news. He admitted this blew up "for reasons I genuinely don't understand," and ran just a portion of the huge coverage Fox News has given to the controversy, leading Hayes to call Harris-Perry's ad "the most successful promo in the history of MSNBC."

Harris-Perry admitted "it's not fun" to go through this, but accepted it as "the nature of public life" to get such heavy criticism. But she found it more interesting that this particular ad, of all things, is getting such play in the conservative media sphere.

"Why this? Like this, of the various spots that all of us have done, they many hours of television I've produced on the show, what is it about this that raises the ire?... [I'm] trying to figure out what it is about those statements that distress people so much."
Mediaite took note of the ad early on, with a highly critical column by Garrett Quinn, followed by a mix of continued criticism and also support, especially this column by Matt Wilstein defending Harris-Perry.

Here’s What’s Included in Maryland’s Controversial
‘Rain Tax’ (It’s Exactly What It Sounds Like)

Becket Adams, TheBlaze — On the heels of Maryland’s decision to enact tough new gun laws, the ironically nicknamed state (the “Free State”) will now impose a so-called “rain tax” on its residents.

The “storm management fee,” passed by the state legislature in 2012, will go into effect on July 1 following a decree from Democrat Gov. Martin O’Malley.

But first, a little background [via the The Gazette]:

In 2010 the Obama administration’s Environmental Protection Agency ordered Maryland to reduce stormwater runoff into the Chesapeake Bay so that nitrogen levels fall 22 percent and phosphorus falls 15 percent from current amounts. The price tag: $14.8 billion.

And where do we get the $14.8 billion? By taxing so-called “impervious surfaces,” anything that prevents rain water from seeping into the earth (roofs, driveways, patios, sidewalks, etc.) thereby causing stormwater run off. In other words, a rain tax.

The EPA ordered Maryland to raise the money (an unfunded mandate), Maryland ordered its 10 largest counties to raise the money (another unfunded mandate) and, now, each of those counties is putting a local rain tax in place by July 1.

The 10 areas affected by the “rain tax” include Montgomery, Prince George’s, Howard, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Hartford, Charles, Frederick, Baltimore counties, and Baltimore city.

“Fees will be calculated on the surface area of properties as the theory is that roofs, driveways and carparks create more potential for drainage problems and water contamination,” Metro explains. “Councils are supposed to determine how much to charge per square foot, but the fee depends on the size of the building and surrounding paved surfaces.”

But how will tax collectors know how to tax “impervious surfaces”? How will they know how much to charge per square foot?

Again, we turn to The Gazette: “Thanks to satellite imagery and geographic information systems, Big Brother can measure your roof and driveway (and you thought drones were only used for killing terrorists).”

Yes, according to this report, Maryland will use satellite imagery to calculate “storm management” fees.

And how does the state plan to spend these new tax dollars? It’s unclear:

The state law is kind of squishy. It can be spent to build and maintain stream and wetland restoration projects. And, of course, a lot of it will go to “monitoring, inspection, enforcement, review of stormwater management plans and permit applications and mapping of impervious surfaces.” In other words, hiring more bureaucrats to administer the rain tax program.

It can also be spent on “public education and outreach” (whatever that means) and on “grants to nonprofit organizations” (i.e. to the greenies who pushed the tax through the various levels of government).

Also: “[S]tate lawmakers exempted government-owned property from the rain tax but imposed it on religions and nonprofits (which own big roofs and parking lots).”
