The King James Version is a translation named after King James I of England, who first commissioned the new English Bible translation in 1604 A.D. and later completed in 1611 A.D. King James 'authorized' the new translation to be read in churches in England and beyond. Later known as the 'Authorized Version' in 1814, the King James Version became a standard among English-speaking Christians.
The King James Version is considered one of the most accurate English translations in existence today. A skilled committee of 54 translators worked for 7 years to carefully complete the King James translation.
The translation is most noted for its poetic feel - prose that seems to flow with a certain rhythmic quality. The book is often cited as the most published book in world history with a significant influence on literature and culture in the last few centuries. It is estimated that more than 1 billion copies of the King James Version have been published.
The King James Version has had a few rounds of edits, mostly to keep up with changes in the English language itself. The English from the original 1611 version is noticeably different than the newer 1769 version. People who are unfamiliar with the English language in the Elizabethan and Jacobean era can easily mistake the 1611 King James Version writing style for spelling errors. The same can be said for other writings of that era as well, for example Beowulf. Ahuva Balofsky, Breaking Israel News (BIN) — he US Supreme Court has handed down a ruling denying Jerusalem as part of Israel, Israel National News reported. The decision, announced Monday, overturns a 2002 law requiring the State Department to recognize “Jerusalem, Israel” as a birthplace in passport listings.
The case in question, Zivotofsky v. Kerry, has been bouncing around the US court system since 2004. Menachem Binyamin Zivotofsky was born in Jerusalem to two American parents in 2002. In 2004, they sued to have their son’s birthplace changed from simply “Jerusalem” to “Jerusalem, Israel” in accordance with the law passed by Congress just months before his birth. The matter came before the Supreme Court last year, after being rejected repeatedly by lower courts.
The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 against the Zivotofskys, criticizing Congress for “overstepping its bounds”, according to the National Journal.
Then-President George W. Bush, who signed the law in 2002, saw it as a recommendation and not legally binding. He argued it infringed on “the president’s constitutional authority to conduct the nation’s foreign affairs”, a stance which President Barack Obama echoes. The US government claimed in a brief to the Supreme Court that recognizing Jerusalem as part of Israel “would critically compromise the ability of the United States to work with Israelis, Palestinians and others in the region to further the peace process,” an indication of America’s intention to negotiate for a Palestinian capital in part of the holy city.
Chief Justice John Roberts was among the three who opposed the Supreme Court decision. He said of the ruling, “Today’s decision is a first: never before has this court accepted a president’s direct defiance of an act of Congress in the field of foreign affairs.”
Israel’s Immigration Absorption Minister Ze’ev Elkin (Likud), whose portfolio includes Jerusalem, responded to the decision by saying Jerusalem is the capital of the Jewish State and “will remain that for eternity.” He urged the US administration acknowledge “the simple fact that is a fundament of the Jewish heritage, and incidentally of Christian heritage as well – Jerusalem is the heart of the Land of Israel, and the eternal capital of the State of Israel!”
Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan (Jewish Home), who lives in the southeastern Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa, had this to say: “United Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish people and the center of the world. This is how it was and how it will be.
“The Obama administration should express a clear position that Jerusalem is the capital of the state of Israel, especially in a period in which movements that negate the existence of the state are raising their heads,” he added.
Jerusalem was divided during the 1948 War of Independence, when the eastern half of the city, including the Temple Mount, fell into Jordanian hands. It was reunified by Israel in 1967, during the Six-Day War. Israel annexed the eastern part of the city and declared it the undivided capital of the Jewish State, but the move has yet to be recognized by the international community. The Palestinians claim at least East Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

Israel Today Staff — The US Supreme Court ruling on Monday that Americans born in Jerusalem could no longer list their country of birth as “Israel” in US passports had the Jewish state fuming, while the Palestinian Authority celebrated the decision as a justification of its narrative regarding the holy city.
The ruling invalidated a 13-year-old congressional law that stipulated Americans born in Jerusalem could list “Israel” as their country of birth. In a 6–3 decision, the Supreme Court determined that Congress had overstepped its authority in enacting the law, and had encroached on the President’s power to set foreign policy.
Justice Antonin Scalia, one of those to vote against the motion, said it was a “leap worthy of the Mad Hatter” to suggest that putting “Israel” on the passports of those born in Jerusalem would prejudge the outcome of Middle East peace talks.
The Israeli government issued no formal response to the ruling, but Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat noted that “just as Washington is the capital of the US, London is the capital of England, and Paris is the capital of France, Jerusalem was and will always be the capital of Israel – but more than that, it’s the heart and soul of the Jewish nation.”
Israeli legal expert Attorney Nitzana Darshan-Leitner told Arutz Sheva radio that the ruling was “a real kick in the face of every Israeli citizen, that such a great friend of Israel’s does not recognize its rights.”
But more than that, Darshan-Leitner warned that the Supreme Court had handed the White House and State Department a major victory in the battle over who sets the foreign policies of the United States.
While the overwhelming majority of Americans and their representatives in Congress are supportive of the Jewish state, the White House and State Department are typically seen as being much less so. Giving full authority over foreign relations to the administrative branch without allowing for checks and balances by the legislative could spell trouble for Israel.
Unsurprisingly, the Palestinian Authority was thrilled with the ruling.
“The decision sends a clear message that Israel is an occupying power in East al-Quds (eastern Jerusalem), the West Bank and the Gaza Strip,” said Palestinian Authority spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh.

Pamela Geller, the target of an ISIS attack at her “draw Muhammad” event in Garland, Texas, last month and a more recent beheading plot, recalled the move by Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher more than 25 years ago in an interview Monday with WND.
“President Obama is no Margaret Thatcher,” she told WND.
“Even though Rushdie was highly critical of Thatcher – he was a liberal, she was as conservative – she called him to 10 Downing Street immediately and said she would protect him,” said Geller.
Geller told WND she now faces additional monthly security expenses of about $30,000.
“It’s daunting, and I’m told I have no choice,” she said. “I’m told by JTTF – the Joint Terrorism Task Force – NYPD and FBI that this is how it has to be for the foreseeable future.”
Shortly after the Garland attack, ISIS confirmed Geller was the main target for “slaughter.” And, last week, ISIS follower Usaamah Rahim, who was fatally shot by Boston police officers after trying to attack them, was found by the FBI to have plotted to behead Geller.
In an “emergency appeal” to supporters Monday via email, Geller, president of the non-profit American Freedom Defense Initiative, said the “security expenses are crippling.”

And when you uncover the roots of the Bilderberg Group, you find some very unsettling things. It turns out that the Bilderberg Group has had Nazi connections from the very beginning, and it continues to advance the agenda of the Nazis to this very day. This year, the Bilderberg Group is meeting from June 11th to June 14th at the Interalpen Hotel which is near the city of Telfs, Austria. During World War II, the Nazi effort to unite all of Europe (and ultimately the rest of the world) through war failed miserably. When the war ended, those that believed in that dream decided that another approach would be necessary. Instead of war, a united Europe dominated by Germany would be achieved through international treaties and diplomacy. In 1957, the European Economic Community was established, and it began with just six countries: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and West Germany. Since that time, it has expanded to 28 nations and has become known as “the European Union”....
US INTELLIGENCE RESPONDS “NO COMMENT” TO QUESTIONS OF SUPPORT FOR ISIS
By Brandon Turbeville, Activist Post — On May 25, I wrote an article entitled “DOD Admits Supporting ISIS, Buffer Zones In Syria,” where I detailed the importance of documents obtained by Judicial Watch via a lawsuit filed by the watchdog organization against the Defense Intelligence Agency revealing that the US government was not only well aware of the fact that al-Qaeda/AQI/ISIS made up the bulk of the so-called “opposition” in Syria but that the US supported these terrorist organizations in their drive to create an “Islamic State” in Syria and Iraq.
These documents were stunning in their open admission that the US government was knowingly supporting al-Qaeda in Iraq and Syria and even more so in the admission that the US gov’t was supporting the creation of the Islamic State. But they were only stunning in the fact that they were released without the relevant portions being redacted. They were much less than surprising when one considers the fact that any informed observer was able to deduce the US policy long before the documents were ever released....

And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
The King James Version is a translation named after King James I of England, who first commissioned the new English Bible translation in 1604 A.D. and later completed in 1611 A.D. King James 'authorized' the new translation to be read in churches in England and beyond. Later known as the 'Authorized Version' in 1814, the King James Version became a standard among English-speaking Christians.
